Clean-Up

Saturday 5th December 2019

Many thanks to all who helped. Hard work sweeping up leaves followed by well-earned pizza and wine. We also managed to start a compost 'heap' at the viewpoint in anticipation of a productive garden.

AGM

Wednesday 20th November 2019

Coach House Trust

The AGM was well attended and there was a lively discussion on local issues. A follow up newsletter will be produced shortly.

Tony Hughes resigned from the committee after many years service. We are grateful for his long and invaluable contribution. We are delighted to welcome new committee member Linda O'Neill.

Party

Sunday 3rd November 2019

Our first Halloween/Guy Fawkes party was well attended and enjoyed by children of all ages. Marshmallows were toasted, apples were dooked-for, treacle scones were wrangled, jokes were told and prizes awarded. The highlight was a reading by torchlight of Julia Donaldson's Room on the Broom by Paul Young which delighted children and adults alike.

BHRA Summer Party

Saturday 22nd June 2019

The weather was kind to us and brought out many members, old and new, to enjoy the sunshine and share a glass of wine and some refreshments with neighbours. There was a healthy interest in the progress of the garden and talk of new volunteers and a WhatsApp BHRA Gardening Group. We'll keep you advised of developments.

Spring Clear Up

Saturday 20th April 2019

There was a good turnout of residents to help reclaim the viewpoint and tidy up the local area. The event was a great success. Thank you to Glasgow Council for providing bags, gloves and litter pickers and also for picking up the rubbish collected. Check the website for our next clear up day - come along and help clear up the area and do a bit of decluttering too.

Clearing up the Viewpoint garden

The committee is still working to establish the right to access and care for the enclosed area that the Coach House Trust used to manage.  In the meantime we have been told we can continue to keep it tidy.

There has been some gardening activity, mostly connected with weeding, but some beds have been dug and raspberry canes and blackberries staked by John.

In weeding the top bed Debbie, Frances and Colin found some rhubarb which should develop nicely over the coming months.

EGM on 19th February 2019

The EGM was well attended. The new constitution was discussed and adopted and good progress was made on discussion of the Association's role in the future development of the Viewpoint garden. Members were brought up-to-date with work on Hamilton drive turning points and refuse/recycling collections.

Leaf Clearing

In November, shortly after the AGM, the committee organised a leaf sweep which was well attended. It was followed by well-earned pizza and wine.

AGM 25th Oct 2018

Our AGM in October was held at The Coach House Trust behind Hamilton Park Avenue. As ever, The Coach House Trust were very hospitable. The event was well attended. Susan Triesman, serving convener, stepped down after several years in the post. We thank her for her hard work over the last few years.
